Seraphina Sol Joins Southern Ontario Nature and Science Illustrators (SONSI)

January 8, 2026, Toronto — Seraphina Sol is a contributing member of the into the Southern Ontario Nature and Science Illustrators (SONSI) community, a network of artists and creative practitioners working across disciplines. Her participation recognizes a research-led practice that is grounded in botanical observation and sustainability, including Field Notes, an ongoing body of work developed through field study and visual documentation.

SONSI brings together illustrators working at the intersection of art and scientific communication, where accuracy and details are essential. Nature and scientific illustration shapes how knowledge continues to be shared and access across museums, nature centres, zoos, publications, and public media. Translating complex ideas into visual form, members collaborate with scientists, educators, publishers, designers, and cultural institutions, to produce work that balances technical rigor with artistic sensibility, and brings the natural world into focus.
