Field Notes Botanical Illustration Nominated for an A' Design Award 2025

April 1, 2025, Como, Italy — Field Notes, a Botanical Illustration and plant conservation-focused project by Artist, Seraphina Sol, has been nominated for a 2025 A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award Category.

The project is an ongoing exploration that illustrates the often-overlooked details of nature, highlighting native plants and moths from remote regions. Each specimen is carefully observed and documented under magnification, capturing everything from the veins of a leaf to the patterns of a moth's wings. Traditional scientific drawing methods were used to record the specimens, then digitally refined to enhance depth and clarity. Inspired by the precision of natural history museums, the project offers a close-up perspective of these specimens and spotlights their vital role in the environment.
